Bourne Identity
Talk about suspense and intrigue! “Bourne Identity,” is one of Mike’s favorite movies and I think he likes it for that very reason. I’m not as fond of it as he is, maybe because it seems to be more of a ‘guy flick.’ But one thing for sure, those feelings were exactly what was on our mind and hearts as we anticipated this new arrival to our family – our 5th grandson! As you can see, Liam Jens is quite precious and adorable. We also have a fabulous grand daughter, so we are quite blessed!
Certainly we are all ‘born with an identity,’ a DNA that’s all our own and unique from any other person. The amazing thing is, before we were ever created, before our flesh and blood became known in the womb or for thousands of years prior to that, God knew us. How majestic is that?! Jeremiah 1:5 ascribes this comfort to humanity when it declares, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you.”
You can never bemoan, “No one knows me!” Yes they do! Your Divine Creator knows you better than you know yourself or will ever know yourself all the days of your life. How comforting to know that God the Father had you in His mind’s eye for all eternity. But it’s up to us to decide if we want to spend it with or without Him. When we accept Him as Lord and Savior of our sinful souls, we become ‘the apple of His eye.’ (Ps. 17:8; Zech. 2:8) I love that, don’t you? Our Eternal Papa Abba is very proud of His children, blessing them far into the generations for those who will love, honor and obey Him. (2 Kings 10:30; Ps. 100:5)
Each individual has ‘borne’ the responsibility for their earthly identity that will transcend into eternity. Have you been born again? Have you been elevated by the power of the Holy Spirit into realms of glory that transcend anything of this earth? Seek Him and you will know!
GONE TOO FAR!
“What’s going on?! How did we get to this place? ” Have you ever asked those questions in a sticky situation? We humans can bring so much havoc into our lives with just a ‘stand by’ attitude. The ‘wait and see what happens syndrome’ can, and does quite often, bring about adverse conditions. What’s more necessary is an active pursuit of answers. Otherwise, things just may escalate to an adverse degree. This is exactly what has happened with God’s holy covenant of marriage. Many simply no longer weigh the Lord God Almighty into the equation, be it this topic or any other for that matter. God has been shelved for man’s own desires.
More and more articles appear in newspapers and magazines everywhere about the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bi-sexual, transgender) ‘civil rights,’ while Christians are now being attacked. This is just one of the topics I address in my book, Armageddon Bride, in the chapter entitled: Persecution. It’s coming, and it’s coming soon with a vengeance! We Christians better be on high alert.
There is a constant saturation of coverage in the media on the gay issue. In yet another article in our hometown newspaper recently, the headline read: ‘Sizeable shift continues in attitudes toward gay candidates,’ going on to say that 67 % of Americans would now support a gay candidate for President. This is more than sad, it’s detrimental.
Enough is enough
To off set that, another quote from S.R., a man from the Lower East Side, who stood in protest with a few hundred people opposed to New York’s Governor Andrew Cuomo legalizing gay marriage said, “I am here for God’s sake. To sanctify same-sex marriage is an abomination. It’s beyond belief.” When I read that I cheered! I thought to myself, “Good for him. He spoke up! Enough is enough! This has gone too far!”
The battle in Afghanistan is far less dangerous than the one we’re fighting on the home front in America! We cannot stand by to see what else happens. The unthinkable has already happened. Gay marriage is here. And so is the accepted norm of heterosexual couples living together without marriage, even among ‘so called’ Christians. And the brainwashing by people who are opposed to Biblical standards of righteousness and purity, are relentless in their fight. Where’s our fight?! What are we doing to abate this abomination marching across our land? Do you and I speak up or are we silent because of fear? Where are the voices of those who truly follow the Lord Jesus? The Eternal King of glory is very serious when He says in Psalm 89:34-35, “My covenant I will not violate, nor will I alter the utterance of My lips, once I have sworn by My holiness; I will not lie to David.” He simply will not allow His Holy Words to be violated or altered. It’s as simple as that. Believe it and embrace it, or walk away from it. It’s either/or. Take heed, O dear ones, lest you fall into the dire last warning given by the Lord in Revelation 22:18-19 that if anyone adds to His Words, or takes away from His Words, that person will lose his salvation. (See also Ex. 32:33; Ps. 119:155; Rev. 2:5, 3:15)
A holy fear
The holy, reverential fear of the Lord has almost completely gone off the map in our culture, sadly, even in our churches. Consider what happened to the beloved apostle John when He saw the Lord in a vision on the island of Patmos. He fell down before Him ‘as a dead man.’ In other words, John was completely awestruck in the Lord’s Presence, so much so, that he fell at his feet motionless. Now that’s reverence personified! The Holy Lamb of God standing before him was not the king of some country. This was the King of all kings and the Lord of all lords! (Rev. 19:16) He is the all-sufficient, self-existing, eternal Most High God. Our own fragile hearts need to tremble in awe at such magnificent holiness, power, glory, splendor and majesty!
So, when was the last time you fell at the Lord’s feet in holy fear? Has this happened in your devotional time with Him or in your church services? If not, why not? Isn’t this a good time to do so? Psalm 103:17-18 has to be our cry in this hour of global madness: “But the lovingkindness of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear Him, and His righteousness to children’s children, to those who keep His covenant, and who remember His precepts to do them.” (My emphasis)
There isn’t any business as usual scenarios. That day is over. The fight for purity, holiness, righteousness and living a godly, Biblical life is on! Our Creator God has stated His mandates quite clearly in the Holy Scriptures. But does anyone read them? Does anyone obey them? Does anyone really care?
Shockingly, many who do read the Bible do exactly what Satan did with Jesus in the wilderness, quoting scripture to the very author of them, but trying to test and tease the Lord Jesus into turning away from truth. It didn’t work. The devil unabashedly says to the Savior several times, “…If you are the Son of God…” Well, Jesus most certainly was and is, and He didn’t have to prove it to a fallen angel! He is who He is, the Lord of lords, the King of kings, and to all who do not obey His Words, they will lose.
The doomed city
Which side are you on? How much will be enough? How much longer will you be on ‘standby’ while the foundations of our country are shaken to the core? Will we be able to find at least 10 righteous people in any city anywhere the way things are going?
In Genesis 18 and 19, Abraham was rightly concerned when he discovered the Lord was about to destroy the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah. If the Lord appeared to me and told me He was going to destroy Johnston, Iowa where I live, I’d be scared too, wouldn’t you?!
All Abraham wanted to know was, “God, would You destroy the good people with the bad ones? Would You spare the city if 50, 45, 40, 30, or even 20 righteous people were found in it?” Then Abe whittles it down to just 10 people! And God says He would not destroy the place if 10 good ones were found. But we know the outcome. There weren’t even 10 good guys in that horrid place. The two angels sent by the Lord grabbed hold of Lot (Abe’s nephew), and his wife, and their two daughters – just four people. But even the lady of the house died as she was being pulled away from the city because she looked back. Only three were saved! The city was then completely destroyed because the Word of the Lord said: “The outcry of Sodom and Gomorrah is indeed great, and their sin is exceedingly grave.” (Gen. 18:20; 1 Pet. 4:5) Judgment came. It always does for those who do not keep ‘covenant’ with God. “My flesh trembles for fear of Thee, and I am afraid of Thy judgments.” And rightly so! (Ps. 119:118 & 120)
All tears wiped away
Ladies and gentleman of the Most High God, let’s not wait to be PULLED out by an angel. We may not be so fortunate! And let us not look backward either. But let us begin to march forward and not be so concerned about yesterday’s trials and tears. Our beloved Savior will wipe away all tears for those who reside within His divine, holy, covenant. (Rev. 21:4) This is the time to move onward and upward into victory through the Name above all names, the Lord Jesus Christ, our Righteous King of glory. He will reign and rule forever and ever.
It’s a new day and a new hour for God’s people to shine. (Isa. 60; Ps. 119:35) So testify and do not be silent! Hold near and dear to your heart these scriptures: “He will bless those who fear the Lord, the small together with the great; He has given food to those who fear Him; He will remember His covenant forever; the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.” (Ps. 115:13; 111:5 & 10) O God, let holy, reverential fear tremble through our heart, mind, soul and being!

A Prophetic Word
Within any given week, I am awakened in the middle of the night to spend time with the Lord, just breathing in His holy, awesome Presence and intimately listening to His beautiful voice. (Ps.119:147-148) He always speaks great encouragements into my heart. May I share several of them with you? I’m quite sure they’re meant for all of us.
Climate Control
During the night of July 6th (& apparently the same date Bobby Connor received his amazing revelation of the ‘awe’ of God!)….the Holy Spirit began to caress my heart with these words: “Walk with Me and you shall see! It’s not earthly things that are changing – its spiritual things that are changing. The very air, atmosphere, and climate of the church are changing. No more climate control by man, but by Me! I am going to change the church into the pure, spotless Bride I’ve called her to be. {“The pure in heart shall see God!” Matt. 5:8} But there will be FEW who will accept My hand of change. {Matt. 7:13-23} Those who embrace Me and come to Me without regard of man shall see Me in all My glory.
Water is coming…the watering of My Spirit, and things will begin to grow much differently than anything of the past. Embrace My holy watering of your souls that you may be refreshed in Me to a new degree – more than you could ever have imagined!
I love you, my precious child, and I will never leave you, I will never forsake you. Let us walk together in this dramatic change that is coming. Hold on to Me. Cling to Me. Do not take your eyes away from Me. Everything is going to look different, but do not fear, for I am with you. I hold you in the palm of My hands. My hands will direct your paths and you shall not stumble; rather, you shall run the race I’ve placed before you. You shall run and not faint or grow weary. My power will carry you through.
There’s a fresh turn of events coming!” (See Isa. 40:29-31; Isa. 42; 43:4-7; Ezkl. 47)
No Stagnation
Eleven days later, during the night of July 17th and after taking Holy Communion, the Holy Spirit said {and this is for all of us}, “You are being called out – out of the norm, out of the usual, and the predicted. You are being called to the fresh Bread of My Presence. Breathe in fresh air! There is no stagnation in Me, only fresh bread, daily bread, glory bread, that will strengthen you for every step you take. I am with you to the ends of the earth.” (See: Ps. 42:1; John 6:35-69; Heb. 13:5)
It would be wise for us to remember the earth will not last forever, but God’s kingdom will. Live for Him now and forevermore!
