SHOW OFF!
Sometimes the scariest things can come from the Lord! And by that I mean, when you pray for something dramatic and ‘that dramatic’ really does happen, you get thrown for a loop! Why for heaven’s sake?! Why are we of so little faith? Are we not called to be like little kids who believe so easily? They tend to trust more quickly than we who are educated and informed. For ‘heaven’s sake’ God the Father is truly waiting on His children to trust Him explicitly without wavering. Personally I’m learning that to a greater degree and I pray you do as well. In that regard, I want to share something that happened at our women’s spring hermitage.
On Saturday evening I was preparing my heart for the Sabbath Service we were to have the next morning. That closing corporate time usually proves to be quite powerful and some say, is the highlight of the hermitage. So as I sat in the rocking chair looking through the big picture window, all of a sudden I felt kind of childlike and said to the Lord, “You know, it’s Saturday night, and I think I just want to watch a movie of Yours!” In my mind’s eye I saw how many people may go out to a movie on a Saturday night for entertainment. But I was looking for the ‘show’ of the Lord. And I got it!
I’d been readying myself to take communion when I felt a pause in my spirit and that’s when I’d asked for the movie. It seemed like a strange time to do that. Nevertheless, as I sat there, eyes wide open, still holding the bread in my hand… I began asking the Lord what He wanted to SHOW me. I purposed to just sit there and look at a movie {vision} that He would provide. I had no idea what to expect because I’ve never done that before. What fun! You ought to try it sometime! He did not disappoint.
Background
Before I share the ‘movie’ I want to give a little background. During the hermitage I’d been praying about the Lord manifesting Himself. I’d been studying the story of Gideon and I was fascinated by the interpretation of a dream from someone in the enemy camp about a barley loaf of bread tumbling into the camp and destroying it. (Judges 7) Wow, the power of that big piece of bread, huh?! I thought of how the Lord is the Living Bread, how scripture speaks of the ‘Bread of His Presence’…how the Lord caused manna to rain down from heaven, how Jesus multiplied the bread and two fish and so many more references of bread. I thought of the current book I’m working on about Holy Communion and the power of the bread and wine, the power of the Lamb’s Body and Blood to heal, deliver and set free!
God asks you and I, “Is anything too difficult for Me?” No! (Gen. 18:14; Jer. 32:17, 27; Matt. 19:26) So right now, think of something that seems extremely difficult, if not impossible in your life and test the Lord in this thing. Bow, bend and believe in Him. Let child like faith overtake your soul.
During the hermitage, one of my prayers was that He would bring a MANI-FESTATION of His Presence and I perceived that soon there will be MANNA-MANIFESTIVALS taking place everywhere! It will be a celebration of the glory of the Bread of His Presence! (Ex. 25:30; 35:13; 39:36: Numb. 4:7)
The movie:
Jesus is walking all around…He’s walking among the people in the streets and sidewalks. He has a big, kind…very kind smile. Everywhere He goes people get happy and happier! They too break out with smiles. It almost looks like a TV commercial, as things seem fast-paced. Time is of the essence. Timing is of the essence!
He touches someone! The man He touched…his coat became like gold. And the man continues to walk on with a big ‘thank you smile’ to Jesus. Then, the Savior touches another man and a gold hat, or a gold crown appears on his head. The man is very happy and gives a salute to Jesus, and continues to walk on at a fast pace.
Everything is moving quickly!
Oh! The crowd now stops and makes a circle around Jesus while holding each other’s hands and they begin to sing that old children’s song, “Ring around the rosie, pocket full of posies…all fall down!” And they all fall down at His feet adoring Him!”
End of movie {vision}.
I fell to the floor along with all these people, still holding the bread in my hand, and adored the Lord weeping with joy and wonderment at all its revelations.
Sabbath Service
The next morning, the Lord told me to have the ladies empty their pockets (purses) and lay all their monies on the steps leading up to the altar. (They were to pick it back up at the end of the service.) I somewhat argued with the Lord. After all, I didn’t want anything to do with the word money on this hermitage because it was all supposed to be spiritual! Well guess what, our provisions ARE spiritual. Everything in our life matters to God.
I knew that to obey was better than sacrifice, so I did what He asked. He told me He would multiply it either there or over the next week. I asked Him why was He doing this? He said, “Because I want to show off!” Hallelujah! He wanted to fill our pockets with posies - with blessings! Posies are flowers. The internet describes ‘posies,’ as flowers used in a floral arrangement in a circular arrangement and different flowers can make up the bouquet.
Remember the circle in the movie? Most certainly the Lord wants to surround us with His amazing provisions, not from any human stand point, but by His own hands. Our provisions may come in various forms and He can rain manna from heaven if He has to! He is the same yesterday, today and forever. Pray, declare and decree multiplication in your resources for God’s Word says in Job 22:28-29, “You will also decree a thing, and it will be established for you; and light will shine on your ways. When you are cast down, you will SPEAK with confidence and the humble person He will save.”
Oil of gladness
O the sweet fragrance of His divine love for us! How wonderful that Jesus is the Rose of Sharon and the Lily of the valleys. What valley are you going through right now? Perhaps it’s time to lay all your burdens down at the altar. He will take care of you in all circumstances of life if you will just fall down and worship Him. He inhabits the praises of His people! He is the Bread of Presence to His children. (Ex. 23:25)
Someone mentioned to me that part of that old children’s song, “Pocket full of posies,” also has the words, “ashes, ashes, all fall down.” They thought it referred to death. It surely may. And I would say to that: Yes and Amen! Shouldn’t we all die to ourselves and live unto Christ? (Col. 3:3; 2 Tim. 2:11) Let us indeed die to self trusting Him completely with all our heart, soul, mind and strength as we fall down worshipping His majesty! His words to us in Isaiah 61:3 are true: “…To grant those who mourn in Zion, giving them a garland instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the mantle of praise instead of a spirit of fainting. So they will be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord that He may be glorified.” God wants to be glorified in every area of your existence. He wants to ‘show off’ in your life!
Testimonies
So you may be asking, “What happened after that?”
As we drove home that Sunday after our Sabbath Service, we were shocked how the Lord had SAVED US from a very serious accident just a short while after we’d left the premises. We had been milliseconds away from being hit and crushed by a huge tow truck that was pulling a semi out of a ditch. We were quite jubilant to say the least that we were spared. Miracle number one!
As we continued our journey home, one of the ladies burst with excitement having felt fire rush through her arm as it was being healed! Miracle number two!
That same Sunday evening upon our return home, one of the ladies was scheduled to speak at their church. There were some big electrical and plumbing needs within the building and they needed a good offering to cover expenses. She contacted me the next day to say they had brought in thousands more than that! All of it would be put to good use as there were other things that needed just as much work to be done. Miracle number three!
Another one of our ‘hermits’ wrote a few days later with a testimony of how God had provided for her welfare. She worked part-time and had been given more hours. She had also gotten a good sized check because she hadn’t been paid for a month! Someone also bought her a new pair of shoes. Thank you Lord! Miracle number four!
As for myself, upon arriving back home after our four day women’s spring hermitage, I began going over the mail. I discovered an envelope my husband had overlooked. (Hmm…?!) When I opened the letter, within its folds was a refund check from a medical facility where I’d had my thumb surgery in the fall of 2010. It was for almost four times the amount I laid on the steps of the altar that morning. Now that’s multiplication! Holy laughter overtook me! Miracle number five! I’m confident there are more to come!
As you and I fall down before our divine, holy, everlasting King of glory, He will prove Himself to us over and over again. Declare and decree by the awesome power of His majesty that He will do in your life what no man can do. (Ps. 2) All we really need is HIM. He delights in displaying His glory among His people. We only need to trust Him as a little child.
Most certainly, God wants to ‘show off’ in your life. Let Him!
QUAD MEETING REPORT
For the Northeast and Northwest sections of Iowa
NORTHWEST
This corner of the state of key intercessors met on April 29th at the Twin Lakes Christian Center in Manson, Iowa and the heavens were opened! The worship team escorted us into an ascent into God’s Throne Room. Spiritual warfare was evident as religious spirits were held back and God’s Shekinah glory entered in! An intimate time of Holy Communion brought us into the Holy of Holies. Wonderfully, several were healed in their bodies as our speaker, Randy Bixby prayed over them after a powerful message about walking in the fullness of God’s anointing. Many thanks to the Western Iowa Women’s Aglow President, Barb Gidell, for hosting this event for this portion of Iowa to be covered in strategic intercessory prayer. May the Lord advance His kingdom in profound ways in this key area of Iowa.
NORTHEAST
This corner of the state met on May 20th at the IHOP facility in Waterloo, Iowa. As rain softly fell on the outside, we felt the watering of the Holy Spirit upon the dry and thirsty souls of this area of the state. Though we were few in numbers that evening, it was mighty in prayer. As a portion in 1 Samuel 14:6-7 says, “The Lord can save by many or by few,” it doesn’t take a big crowd of people to break open the heavens! Communion was an intimate and holy encounter with the Lamb of God, and never before experienced in this manner by most in attendance. Randy Bixby’s message was life-changing. As at the last Quad Meeting, God used Randy for healing. There was a lady there who had suffered for years with severe back problems and was wonderfully healed and overcome by the Holy Spirit with laughter and joy! All glory and honor to our Most High God. Even to one dear heart to get deliverance from a lifetime of pain, to her - the meeting meant everything! Heartfelt thanks to Mike Peters for hosting the event as well as to Bre Rottinghaus and her wonderful worship team for sharing their gift of song.
